Welcome to Mountain State Press

The Mountain State Press promotes writing in West Virginia by publishing literary works of all genres written by West Virginians or about the state. Since 1978, the Press has published works varying in style and subject matter which hold appeal throughout Appalachia and the greater United States.

Mountain State Press fills a void in a state where access to a university press has been limited, by offering talented writers a resource for publishing their works and an opportunity to contribute to the formation of a "regional voice" for an area the size of England. We are honored to open up our culture and voice through writing.
